GCSE Identity Project
Project Aim
Many artists use the theme of identity to explore their ideas. They use many different styles and techniques to represent people and their personalities.
You are to create a series of portraits each responding to a different artist and submitted as one piece of work in a sketchbook. You will be expected to research each artist and make comments on how they have influenced your ideas. The final outcome should be a collaborative piece reflecting the whole groups portraits.

GCSE EXAM 2012
EXAM THEME - 'HERE AND NOW'
Preparatory period
You have 10 weeks to research and plan for your exam piece. The majority of your marks are gained through this preparatory work so it is important to keep up to date. You will be expected to spend a minimum of 1 hour per week on your studies outside of lessons. Read through the assessment objectives carefully and work your way through the guidelines ticking off each task as you complete them. Act upon feedback given to you by your teacher to show that you are developing and refining work as you progress. Remember to annotate every page in your book using key art terminology wherever possible. Check out the analysis resources on this site to help you write about both your own and artists work. In 10 weeks you should produce a minimum of 20 pages in your sketchbook.
Timed Test - week beginning 26/3/2012
The 10 hour exam takes place over 2 days in the art studio. During this time you will produce your final outcome to the theme 'Here and Now' which should have been fully researched, planned and developed during the 10 week preparatory period. Official exam conditions apply so you will not be allowed to talk, listen to music or communicate with other students. You will get break and lunch as usual during the 2 day exam.
